Welcome to Cattleya Counseling! My name is Carmen (she/her) and I’m excited about an opportunity to support you in your therapy process. I believe therapy allows space to be held for the untold and unfolding stories someone carries inside. It allows an opportunity to not only be heard but also to create new chapters and weave new narratives. My therapy style is warm, authentic, perceptive, and uplifts you as the expert of your experience.
Cattleya Counseling offers individual and group therapy virtually for adults living in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. It centers around supporting historically and systemically excluded communities such as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, chronically ill and disabled individuals. Areas of focus and experience include anxiety, depression, complex trauma, chronic illness, grief/loss/bereavement, and adoption.
Cattleya Counseling is named after the national flower of Colombia “Cattleya Trianae” where I have my ancestral roots. The flower blooms from the winter into the spring which is a time that symbolizes a movement from sadness and darkness to a time of hope and opportunity. Similarly, healing can serve as a season of the in-between and of a transformation from struggle and stuckness into growth and renewal.
